MEDICAL – The medical plan offered by KPA is designed to promote wellness and protect you and family members from major financial hardships in the event of illness or injury. KPA offers the Baylor Scott & White Premium Health Plan. KPA pays the premium for full-time employees and a portion of their spouse and dependents premiums. A health reimbursement account is available to reimburse employees up to $500 in medical costs excluding co-pays.
DENTAL – Dental coverage is provided to full-time employees at no cost as well as a portion of their spouse and dependents premium.
VISION – Vision coverage is provided to full-time employees at no cost as well as a portion of their spouse and dependents premiums.
PRESCRIPTION – Drug Prescription coverage is provided to full-time employees at no cost and a portion of their spouse and dependents premiums.
DISABILITY – Short and long term disability are offered to full-time employees at no cost to the employee.
LIFE INSURANCE – Basic Term Life insurance is provided to full-time employees at no cost to employee.
PAID SICK LEAVE – Upon completion of six months of full-time employment, KPA employees are eligible for 40 hours of paid sick leave.
RESERVE SICK LEAVE – Full-time employees may accumulate additional sick leave beyond the standard 40 hours per year. These days may be earned in any year when the employee does not use more than three days of standard sick leave.
HOLIDAYS – Paid Holidays become effective immediately upon full-time employment. KPA observes 10 paid holidays per year.
VACATION – Upon acceptance of full-time employment, the employee is eligible for eleven days (88 hours) of paid vacation prorated to the amount of work time remaining within the calendar year. An additional day (8 hrs) of paid vacation is earned for each full year of full-time employment after five years, up to ten years full-time employment. After ten years of full-time employment, employees are eligible for a total of sixteen days (128 hrs) of paid vacation.
EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE – After six months full-time employment, KPA offers employees reimbursement of tuition and any fees with a grade of “A” or “B” in work related courses up to $500 per year.
401K PLAN – KPA makes a contribution towards eligible employee’s 401K account matching dollar for dollar up to 6%. Eligibility in enrollment of the 401K Plan is after one (1) full year of full time
TECHNICAL/PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS – To assist in employee’s career development, KPA covers membership dues to various technical and professional associations. These Associations include Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), American Water Works Association (AWWA), Water Environment Federation (WEF), Texas Public Works Association (TPWA) and American Society of Certified Engineering Technicians (ASCET) to name a few.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT – We believe in making a difference in the community in which we live and work by supporting various charitable causes and community sponsored events. Whether it’s attending an annual military appreciation banquet, serving on advisory boards for a City or volunteering to help at the Rotary Club Spaghetti Supper, at KPA, we believe in giving back to our community.
